Then use your senses. The air should smell like clean bedding and chickens, not sharp ammonia. It should feel fresh, not steamy. If the coop seems humid, increase high-level vent area, improve the protected intake path, remove wet bedding, and look for a leaking waterer or rain intrusion.

Another mistake is placing vents at roost height. A screened window that blows directly onto sleeping birds can create the very draft you are trying to prevent.
